About CoinMarketHelp
CoinMarketHelp is an independent reference site for cryptocurrency market data. We track prices, market capitalisation, trading volume and supply figures for more than 1,200 digital assets, and publish a plain-language explainer for each one.
What this site is for
Most people who look up a cryptocurrency want three things: what it costs right now, whether that number is unusual, and what the project actually does. Exchange listings answer the first question and ignore the other two. Whitepapers answer the third at a length nobody reads.
We try to answer all three on one page. Every asset page carries live market figures alongside a written explanation of the project's origin, the technology behind it, what it is realistically used for, and where it sits in the market. The explainers run 500–900 words — long enough to be useful, short enough to finish.
Where our data comes from
Market data on this site is sourced from the CoinGecko API, which aggregates order books and trade data from several hundred exchanges. We refresh prices, volumes and market capitalisation every hour. The timestamp at the bottom of each asset page shows when that specific record was last updated.
We do not operate an exchange, we do not run order books, and we do not generate our own price feeds. If a figure on this site disagrees with a figure on an exchange you use, the exchange is the authority for its own market — aggregated prices are volume-weighted averages across many venues, and they will differ from any single venue.
How the written content is produced
The asset explainers are drafted with the assistance of large language models working from structured project data — launch dates, consensus mechanism, supply schedule, category, official documentation — and then formatted into a consistent four-part structure. We are telling you this because we would rather you knew than guessed.
This approach has a known weakness: a model can state something outdated or simply wrong with complete confidence. We mitigate it by constraining generation to factual fields we already hold, but we do not claim every sentence on this site has been individually verified by a human. Treat the explainers as orientation, not as a source of record. For anything you intend to act on, go to the project's own documentation.
How we make money
This site is funded by display advertising and by affiliate links to cryptocurrency exchanges. If you open an exchange account through one of our links, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence which assets we list or what the explainers say. Our listing is ranked by market capitalisation, which is computed from third-party data we do not control. We have no mechanism to promote one asset over another in exchange for payment, and we do not accept paid listings, paid reviews or sponsored placement in the rankings. See our Terms of Use for the full disclosure.
What we are not
We are not financial advisers, we are not licensed by any securities regulator, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Cryptocurrency is a volatile, largely unregulated asset class in which total loss of capital is a normal outcome rather than an edge case. Please read our Risk Disclaimer before you make any decision involving money.
Corrections and contact
If you find an error — a wrong figure, an outdated claim, a project description that no longer matches reality — we want to hear about it. Corrections are the cheapest way for us to get better. Write to us through the contact page.
